The National Health Practitioner Ombudsman & Privacy Commissioner is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals. The office is governed by strict legislation which means that we cannot provide comments on individual complaint cases.

All media enquiries are to be directed to media@nhpopc.gov.au, alternatively we can be contacted on 1300 795 265 (Office hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, Australian Eastern Standard Time; a voicemail service is available outside these hours or if we are unavailable to accept your call).

Fact sheets

The National Health Practitioner Ombudsman & Privacy Commissioner has a range of fact sheets available to the public, which provide information about the office’s services and general complaint handling advice.

Reporting

The Ombudsman and Privacy Commissioner is formally accountable to the Australian Health Workforce Ministerial Council and the office submits regular progress reports to the Australian Health Ministers Advisory Council.

 

Annual Reports

As per Clause 24 of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Regulation (No. 42/2010), the National Health Practitioner Ombudsman & Privacy Commissioner is required to produce an annual report each financial year.
